Overview
A young catcher on a youth diamond gets this All-Star mitt in a deep pocket pattern with a tapered fit for smaller hands. Rawhide with rolled bindings gives it the look of a mitt from the pro ranks.
A cut weight design removes excess leather, which makes the mitt quicker to bring around than a traditional heavy one. The limitation is the missing break-in level and the lack of any warranty.
Who it's for
Youth league catchers whose hands are too small for an adult mitt will use the tapered fit. Older players, left-handed throwers and buyers who want warranty cover should shop for a different glove.
Pros and cons
- Tapered fit for smaller hands
- Deep pocket pattern
- Cut weight design is lighter
- Leather lining and shell
- Warranty not applicable
- Break-in level not stated
- Right hand throw only
Performance notes
Removing excess leather lowers the mitt's mass, so a smaller player can move it into position faster and with less fatigue. A deep pocket holds the ball against the palm, and the taper follows a smaller hand.
