Overview
Monstrum fits the Beast ED with ED glass and a first focal plane Morpheus MOA reticle across a wider zoom range. The reticle grows with magnification, so the ranging marks read the same at every setting.
Added reach at the top end gives more detail on distant targets while the low end stays usable for close work. The listing omits the warranty, eye relief and what mount hardware, if any, comes with it.
Who it's for
Hunters and practical shooters who stretch shots further than a basic LPVO allows will use the extra power. Those who prefer a second focal plane reticle that stays bold at high zoom should look elsewhere.
Pros and cons
- Wider zoom range for longer shots
- ED glass sharpens detail
- Illumination bright enough for daylight
- Locking turrets hold settings
- Warranty not listed
- Weight unit listed oddly
- Reticle thin at the lowest power
Performance notes
Image detail at the top power depends on the ED glass and coatings, which reduce color fringing and add contrast. The first focal plane reticle scales with zoom, so holdovers remain valid at every setting. At low power the reticle shrinks, which leaves the illumination to draw the eye.
