Overview
A homeowner who needs to trim high branches gets a gas-powered pole saw with a long reach and a proprietary X-CUT chain. The listing also calls it an attachment, compatible with Husqvarna trimmer attachments such as an edger and a hedge trimmer.
Reason to buy: the long reach and attachment compatibility let one power source handle several jobs. Limitation: the listing is unclear on what ships with the tool, and fuel, oil and extra attachments are not included.
Who it's for
Yard owners who prune tall limbs from the ground and may add an edger or hedge trimmer later will use the shared attachment system. Buyers who want a complete package, or who dislike gas upkeep, should consider other options.
Pros and cons
- Long pole reach
- X-CUT chain for cutting performance
- Gas power, no cord
- Residential warranty included
- Bare tool, contents unclear
- Gas engine needs fuel and oil
- Other attachments sold separately
- Heavy at arm's length overhead
Performance notes
A small gas engine turns the chain at the end of the pole, so the reach and the pole weight decide how tiring it is to work overhead. The X-CUT chain sets the cutting angle, and the stated limb thickness is the practical limit for a short chain.
