Overview
Douxo SPA Shed Control is a 16 fl oz gel shampoo made by Ceva Animal Health for dogs shedding heavily, formulated without parabens, phthalates or sulfates and built from 97% natural origin ingredients in a vanilla scent.
This is a therapeutic-leaning grooming shampoo rather than a bargain bulk wash, sitting in Ceva's veterinary-adjacent Douxo SPA line. The gel format concentrates for lathering, and the sulfate-free build targets dogs with sensitive or already-irritated skin, not just loose fur.
- 16 fl oz gel shampoo
- Vanilla scented
- Paraben, phthalate and sulfate free
- Made by Ceva Animal Health
Who it's for
Owners of dogs going through a heavy shedding season or a coat that mats loose hair may want this over a standard shampoo. It suits people already buying from the Douxo grooming line or those specifically told to avoid sulfates and parabens on their dog's skin.
Pros and cons
- Sulfate, paraben and phthalate free formula
- 97% natural origin ingredients
- Gel concentrate lathers for full-coat use
- Made by an established animal health manufacturer
- No dilution directions given in the listing data
- Vanilla scent may not suit scent-sensitive dogs
- Priced above mass-market shed shampoos
Performance notes
The gel form is meant to be diluted and worked through the coat to loosen and lift shed hair while the paraben and sulfate free base cleans without stripping natural oils. The vanilla scent covers wet-dog odor during the wash rather than acting as a long-lasting fragrance.
