Overview
Event videographers and small production crews get a compact ultra HD camcorder with a long optical zoom and steady hybrid stabilization. A detachable handle adds XLR mic inputs, a record button and an LED light, and face detection holds focus.
A long zoom range with optical stabilization and pro audio inputs covers weddings, talks and interviews from one camera. Removing the handle saves weight but also removes the XLR inputs.
Who it's for
Solo shooters and small crews get broadcast-style features in a compact body. Families filming birthdays will find it bulky and complex.
Pros and cons
- Long optical zoom
- High bitrate 4K recording
- XLR audio via handle
- Long battery life
- Heavy for a handheld camcorder
- XLR inputs leave with the handle
- Needs fast V90 cards for top modes
Performance notes
Optical and electronic stabilization work together to correct shake in several directions, and the ball O.I.S. damps small tremors. High bitrate, high bit depth recording preserves detail and color for grading. Face detection and color recognition hold focus on moving subjects.
