Best forYou want a quiet, dimmable ceiling fan with a reversible wood or black look and remote control

Overview

Reversible black or wood-tone blades set this 52 inch DC ceiling fan apart, alongside three color temperatures, six speeds and a remote with timer.

The blades are double sided, so flipping them swaps the fan between a black finish and a natural wood look without buying new blades. A brushless DC motor is why it can run as low as 30 decibels while still moving air, and reverse mode pushes air down in summer or pulls it up in winter. Two downrods (5 and 10 inches) are included so the same fan mounts closer to a standard 8 to 9 foot ceiling or drops lower in a taller room.

  • 52 inch span with 5 dual-finish blades
  • 3000K to 6500K dimmable LED light
  • 30 decibel brushless DC motor
  • 5 inch and 10 inch downrods included

Who it's for

Buyers replacing a dated fan who want a quiet DC motor and a light that shifts between warm and cool white. Also suits anyone who wants one fan that can look black or wood grain depending on the room.

What buyers say

From Amazon customer reviews.

Most buyers praise the quiet motor, the wood-grain blade finish and how easy the remote and installation are, with several specifically noting how quiet it runs even at higher speeds. One detailed report from a reviewer who consulted a certified electrician described electrical interference readings far above a normal range and a breaker that tripped repeatedly after installation, and another buyer noted it ships with 8-32 screws instead of the 10-32 size many fans use.

Strengths and trade-offs

Drawn from this product's published specifications.

What stands out
  • Reversible black or wood-tone blades in one fan
  • Quiet DC motor rated around 30 decibels
  • Three color temperatures with memory function
  • Two downrods included for different room sizes
What to check first
  • One detailed report of high EMI tripping a breaker
  • Ships with 8-32 screws, smaller than some fans use
  • Sloped ceiling limited to about 15 degrees

Performance notes

Airflow and quiet running come from the DC motor rather than a standard AC type, which also lets it dim smoothly across the 3000K to 6500K range and hold the last light setting after a brief power-off. The remote handles speed, light level, direction and a 1, 4 or 8 hour timer, and the fan mounts flush or with either downrod depending on ceiling height and slope up to 15 degrees.
