Overview
Fab Habitat's Tuscon Natural rug is a 5x8 foot outdoor mat woven from recycled plastic tubes in a geometric minimalist pattern, built to handle patios, decks, camping trips and RVs while resisting water, stains and fading.
It is woven rather than tufted or fiber based, which is what allows it to be hosed off and left outdoors without absorbing water. The reversible weave gives two subtly different patterns from one rug, and Fab Habitat notes it carries GoodWeave certification, meaning the weaving is done without child labor.
- 100% recycled plastic woven construction
- Waterproof and hose cleanable
- Reversible with two pattern sides
- GoodWeave certified, child-labor free
Who it's for
Households that want a low maintenance outdoor rug for a patio, deck, campsite or RV, including spaces used by kids or pets. Not for buyers who specifically want a natural fiber texture rather than woven plastic.
Pros and cons
- Waterproof surface that rinses clean with a hose
- Reversible weave gives two pattern options in one rug
- UV resistant coloring for outdoor fade resistance
- Made from recycled plastic with GoodWeave child-labor-free certification
- Color and pattern can vary from the listing photos due to manufacturing limits
- Woven plastic feel differs from a natural fiber rug
Performance notes
The recycled plastic tubes are woven tightly enough that the rug does not absorb moisture, so rain, spills and dirt sit on the surface and rinse off with a hose rather than soaking in. Being rolled rather than folded for shipping keeps it free of permanent creases, and the reversible weave means either side can face up as the pattern wears or fades unevenly over time.
