Overview
Not a full ceramic coating kit, Ethos Defy is a spray that cleans, conditions and coats paint in one wipe. Surfactants lift dust and grime, while silica ceramic and Insta-Bond polymers leave a slick, water-repelling layer.
One spray and a towel replace a bucket wash for light dirt, and the finish beads water. Durability is not stated, and it only touches up light scratches.
Who it's for
Apartment dwellers without a hose and owners who detail often will use it weekly. Heavily soiled off-road vehicles need water first.
Pros and cons
- Cleans and protects in one step
- No water needed
- Safe on many vehicle types
- No streaking per brand
- Durability not listed
- Light scratches only
- Towels not included
Performance notes
Surfactants lift dirt into the towel so it does not scratch, which is why it suits light dirt. The silica ceramic polymers bond to clean paint and create the slick surface that repels water.
