Overview
The Acer HK03 is a wired, foldable over-ear headset built for kids, with a switchable 85dB or 94dB volume cap, a 3.5mm plug, and a built-in mic for tablets, school laptops, and travel.
The volume limiter is the reason to consider this over a generic kids headset: it caps output at a lower 85dB by default with a 94dB option for louder settings. It is a wired-only design, so it needs a 3.5mm jack or an adapter on newer devices without one. Acer states CPSIA compliance and a 12-month warranty; there is no review history yet to confirm long-term hinge or cushion wear.
- 85/94dB switchable volume cap
- Foldable over-ear design
- 3.5mm wired plug with mic
- 12-month warranty per seller
Who it's for
Parents outfitting a young child for school, tablet use, or car trips who want output capped below normal listening levels. Not a fit for anyone who wants Bluetooth, bass-forward sound, or a headset for a device without a headphone jack.
Pros and cons
- Switchable 85/94dB volume limiting
- Folds flat for a bag or backpack
- Built-in mic works for calls
- Adjustable headband grows with the child
- Wired 3.5mm only, no Bluetooth
- No review history yet to confirm durability
- Cushion material only described as hypoallergenic, not named
Performance notes
Volume is limited electronically rather than just physically, with two selectable caps (85dB, 94dB) so a parent can loosen the limit slightly for older kids. The headband folds flat for a backpack, and the slider adjusts as a child grows. Amazon does not report review data for this listing yet, so real-world hinge and cable durability are unconfirmed.

Frequently asked questions
Does the Acer HK03 limit volume automatically?
