Overview
Beyerdynamic builds the DT 770 Pro X as closed-back, over-ear studio headphones with dynamic drivers and velour earpads. A detachable cable plugs into a standard jack, and an adjustable headband sets the fit.
Sound isolation and a detachable, tangle-free cord suit recording and monitoring in a busy room. Being wired only and not water resistant limits where it works.
Who it's for
A producer, streamer or home-studio user will want the isolation while tracking and editing. Commuters and athletes will do better with a wireless set built to handle movement and moisture.
Pros and cons
- Closed-back sound isolation
- Light for studio headphones
- Wide listed frequency range
- Not water resistant
- Only one cable listed
Performance notes
Closed cups block outside noise and stop sound leaking into a microphone, and the dynamic drivers are driven directly from the source over the cable. The listed impedance is modest, so an ordinary interface or computer output can power them.
