Overview
This is a single-serving French press with a 350ml (about 12oz) borosilicate glass carafe wrapped in a metal outer shell. The shell has viewing windows so you can see the water level, and it comes with a stainless steel mesh filter instead of paper.
- 350ml / 12oz borosilicate glass carafe
- Stainless steel mesh filter, no paper needed
- Metal outer shell with water-level windows
- Ergonomic wide handle
Who it's for
Fits someone who drinks a single cup of coffee or tea at a time and wants breakage protection over a bare glass press. Not the choice for multi-cup households that need to brew for more than one person at once.
Pros and cons
- Metal shell protects the glass carafe from breakage
- Stainless filter avoids paper filter cost and taste
- Sized right for a single cup
- Casing can be stiff to separate from the glass for cleaning
- Plunger needed disassembly to reach the bottom for one buyer
Performance notes
The outer metal shell is reported as sturdy enough to survive a drop that would crack a bare glass carafe. On the plunger, one buyer had to disassemble the lid piece to get it to reach the bottom of the canister, a fit issue worth knowing before your first brew.
