Overview
Not a plain particle filter, this Alen purifier ships with an odor version of its HEPA filter aimed at cooking smells, litter boxes and diapers. A laser sensor adjusts fan speed and lights color rings, and the Alen Air app shows readings and trends.
Odor absorption on top of HEPA filtration targets homes with pets, kids and strong cooking smells. Coverage figures disagree within the listing, so size it to the lower number.
Who it's for
Large bedrooms, living rooms and dining rooms with pet or food odors are the intended space. Buyers who do not want a filter subscription or yearly proof of purchase should weigh the warranty terms first.
Pros and cons
- Odor filter included
- Sensor adjusts fan speed automatically
- Color rings show air quality
- App history and remote control
- Title and specs disagree on coverage
- Warranty tied to ongoing filter purchases
- Larger and heavier for small rooms
Performance notes
Particle capture depends on the HEPA media and how often the room air passes through it, so the sensor raises the fan when readings spike. Odor control comes from the absorbent layer in the filter, which works only while air moves through it, so continuous running matters.
