Overview
Five up-firing drivers, including a dedicated center channel aimed at the ceiling, give this LG soundbar its height effects and clear dialogue. A built in microphone measures the room and finds the rear speakers, and the system tunes itself to match.
Rear speakers plus many height channels place sound all around and above the seats. The WOW features work only with LG TVs, and the bar needs a wide wall or console.
Who it's for
Movie fans and gamers with large rooms get an immersive system that calibrates itself. Owners of other TV brands lose the WOW Orchestra and WOW Interface extras.
Pros and cons
- Rear speakers included
- Many height channels
- Up-firing center for dialogue
- Self calibrating to the room
- WOW features need an LG TV
- Wide bar needs space
- Heavy full system
Performance notes
Height effects come from up-firing drivers bouncing sound off the ceiling, so flat ceilings of normal height suit it. The room calibration measures layout and rear speaker position, then adjusts timing and levels.
