Overview
A TrueBlack Glossy WOLED panel with a dual mode scaler drives this ASUS ROG monitor, switching between sharp UHD and a lower resolution, faster esports mode. A proximity sensor blanks the screen when you walk away to protect the OLED.
Sharp UHD detail plus a very fast esports mode in one screen is the case for it, backed by burn-in coverage. The glossy surface shows reflections in bright rooms, and USB-C power is too low to charge most laptops at full speed.
Who it's for
Gamers and color minded creators in controlled lighting get the most from the glossy OLED. Office users in sunny rooms would do better with a matte panel.
Pros and cons
- Dual resolution and refresh modes
- Burn-in covered by warranty
- Proximity sensor protects the panel
- Accurate color for editing
- Glossy screen reflects room light
- Low USB-C charging power
- DisplayPort is not the newest version
Performance notes
OLED pixels switch almost instantly, so motion clarity depends mainly on frame rate. The dual mode trades resolution for refresh when esports speed matters more than detail. OLED Care Pro and the proximity sensor reduce static image time on the panel.
