Overview
FDK's BW02 is a digital rectal thermometer for dogs and cats that gives an 8-second reading on a backlit LCD screen, with a flexible waterproof soft tip and a fever alarm.
It runs on a single CR2032 battery, included in the box along with the manual and certification paperwork. The soft tip and auto-off feature point to a design meant for routine at-home checks rather than clinical use, though FDA specification compliance is listed.
- 8-second fast reading
- Reads 89.6 to 109.2 degrees Fahrenheit
- Auto-off battery saving
- Includes CR2032 battery and manual
Who it's for
Owners who want a fast, easy-to-read way to check a dog or cat's temperature at home. Less useful for anyone who wants a non-contact or ear-style thermometer instead of a rectal one.
Pros and cons
- 8-second reading time
- Backlit LCD for low-light use
- Fever alarm alert
- Waterproof, flexible soft tip
- Rectal design may stress some pets
Performance notes
The 8-second fast-reading system and large backlit LCD are meant to make quick checks easier, especially in low light, while the flexible soft tip and waterproof housing support cleaning between uses. A fever alarm flags out-of-range readings without requiring the owner to interpret the number themselves.
