Overview
Mounting a phone or camera behind the eyepiece turns this spotting scope into a long lens for birds and distant targets. It has dual-speed focusing, a twist-up eyecup and a body that is sealed against water and fog.
The reason to buy is long-range viewing with a built-in phone holder and a sealed body that handles weather. The limit is that the field of view figure has no distance behind it and the tripod claim is inconsistent.
Who it's for
Picture a lakeside blind or a rifle range where the viewer wants to zoom in and snap phone shots. A hiker counting every ounce, or someone who must have a tripod included for certain, should check the contents carefully.
Pros and cons
- Waterproof and fogproof body
- Dual-speed focus control
- Integrated phone holder
- BAK4 prism system
- Tripod not in contents list
- Field of view distance is missing
- Heavy for carrying far
- Manual focus only
Performance notes
Image brightness and sharpness come from the large objective lens and the multi-coated prism. Zoom helps with distant targets but narrows the view and shows heat shimmer at high power. A stable mount matters more than any spec for steady viewing and phone shots.
