Overview
A movie lover building a home theater gets a huge self lit OLED panel in the Sony BRAVIA, tuned by the XR processor for contrast and color. The screen itself vibrates to produce sound, so dialogue seems to come from the actor on screen.
Self lit pixels and Sony processing give deep blacks and natural color on a very large screen. Its weight and size demand careful mounting, and built in sound will still benefit from a separate system in a big room.
Who it's for
Film fans and console gamers with space get immersive picture and on screen sound. Apartment dwellers with small walls should look at a smaller size.
Pros and cons
- Self lit OLED contrast
- Sound from the screen surface
- Four HDMI 2.1 inputs
- Dolby Vision and Atmos
- Very heavy to mount
- Glossy screen reflects bright lights
- Stand dimensions not clearly listed
Performance notes
Contrast comes from pixels that light and switch off individually, while the XR processor adjusts brightness and color in real time. Acoustic Surface Audio+ vibrates the panel, so voices track with on screen action.
