Overview
Competitive gamers who also want real HDR get a QHD IPS monitor with a MiniLED backlight split into many dimming zones. The Acer Nitro pairs very high refresh with VESA DisplayHDR certification and an adjustable stand.
Local dimming lets bright highlights sit beside dark shadows, which standard edge lit IPS screens cannot match, and the refresh rate suits fast shooters. The stand adjusts in every direction. Reaching the top refresh at QHD demands a high end graphics card.
Who it's for
Competitive and HDR gamers with capable PCs or consoles get the most from it. Office users and light gamers will not use most of its speed.
Pros and cons
- MiniLED local dimming for HDR
- Very high refresh rate
- Fully adjustable stand
- Matte screen finish
- Needs a strong GPU
- Blooming possible with zone dimming
- VESA mount size not stated
Performance notes
Local dimming zones brighten and darken parts of the backlight, so HDR scenes gain contrast, though small bright objects can show halos. Refresh rate only helps when the GPU delivers matching frame rates. Adaptive sync smooths drops below the maximum.
