Overview
Hunters who move between thick timber and longer open shots get a variable scope with a Dead-Hold BDC reticle in the second focal plane.
Vortex pairs a holdover reticle with sharper detail and improved light transmission in the HD version, so the scope covers both close cover and longer shots. The warranty is unlimited and unconditional. Eye relief, parallax and turret click values are absent from the listing, so check them for your rifle.
Who it's for
Hunters in mixed country, from dense timber to open ground, are the target. Shooters who want a first focal plane reticle should look elsewhere.
Pros and cons
- Wide magnification spread for mixed cover
- BDC holdover marks in MOA
- HD glass for sharper detail
- Sunshade and neoprene cover included
- Scope rings not included
- Holdovers tied to one magnification setting
- Eye relief and turret clicks not listed
Performance notes
In a second focal plane scope the reticle stays the same size as you zoom, so the BDC holdover marks match their stated values at one magnification setting. Image brightness at dawn and dusk rests on the objective lens and the HD optics. Mounting fit depends on rings matched to the tube and the rifle base.
