Overview
A first-time stargazer or a young observer gets a simple altazimuth setup here, with a straight-through finderscope and manual focus. The tripod and phone adapter are included, and the whole kit packs into a backpack for carrying.
The reason to buy is an easy starter kit that is simple to assemble and carry. The limit is that the listing gives no eyepiece sizes and no information about the optical type beyond the Kellner eyepiece.
Who it's for
Imagine a family trip where a light kit goes in the backpack for a dark campsite. An experienced observer wanting tracking or larger aperture will outgrow it quickly.
Pros and cons
- Tripod, bag and phone adapter included
- Simple altazimuth mount
- Fun stickers for kids
- Eyepiece details not given
- No tracking mount
- Phone adapter fit unclear
- Optical type not stated
Performance notes
Image brightness is set by the aperture, and the field of view figure shows how much sky appears at once. The simple mount moves up, down and sideways by hand, so tracking a planet means nudging the tube. Higher magnifications need a steady tripod and calm air.
