Overview
Not a bare guitar, this Fender California Standard Redondo CE comes as a bundle with a case, tuner, strap, strings, picks and a winder. The cutaway dreadnought pairs a spruce top with sapele and a Fender preamp for plugging in.
Beginners get a playable, plug-in-ready guitar and the gear to start in one box. The laminate build trades some tonal depth for durability.
Who it's for
New players and casual strummers who want to play unplugged or through an amp right away. Experienced players chasing richer resonance should look elsewhere.
Pros and cons
- Plug-in ready with preamp
- Cutaway for upper frets
- Slim C neck
- Case and accessories included
- Neck wood is okoume
- Warranty not listed
Performance notes
Laminated woods vibrate less freely than unlaminated tops, which shapes a clear but less complex tone. The piezo pickup and preamp govern plugged-in sound, and the cutaway opens access high on the neck.
