Overview
This Vortex Venom bundle pairs a 1-6x24 second focal plane riflescope with a Picatinny-compatible sport mount, built around a shockproof 30mm aircraft-aluminum tube and an illuminated BDC3 reticle rated for ranging out to 600 yards.
Model BNDL-VEN1601-SCM sells the scope and a 6061 aluminum mount together, with a 1.50 inch tube height and 2 inch eye relief offset built in. Feedback is thin and mixed, including one report of a reticle installed upside down and backwards, so confirming reticle orientation on arrival is a reasonable precaution.
- 1-6x24 second focal plane optic
- 30mm shockproof aircraft-aluminum tube
- 6061 aluminum sport mount, 1.50 in tube height
- Nitrogen-purged, Armortek-coated lenses
Who it's for
Shooters who want a low-power variable optic with an illuminated reticle for short to mid-range work and prefer buying scope and mount together. Less suited to anyone who needs guaranteed turret and reticle legibility straight out of the box.
Pros and cons
- Bundle includes a Picatinny-compatible sport mount
- Nitrogen-purged for fogproof, waterproof performance
- Illuminated reticle rated for ranging out to 600 yards
- Lifetime, transferable VIP warranty
- One buyer received a reticle installed upside down and backwards
- Turret and magnification numbers reported hard to read by one reviewer
Performance notes
XD optics with fully multi-coated, Armortek-coated lenses aim to keep the image clear and scratch-resistant, while nitrogen purging is meant to prevent internal fogging. Textured turrets and an included throw lever are built for fast magnification changes with gloves on, and the illuminated BDC3 reticle is designed to range silhouette-sized targets to 600 yards.
