Overview
Not a loose blanket bag, the Kelty Space Cadet is a wearable sleeping bag for babies and toddlers with arms out, fleece hand covers and a top snap closure. The bottom unzips and snaps back so a child can walk in it around camp.
Arms-out design holds little ones snug while letting them move, and the top snap stops them unzipping at night. Move Mode saves pulling a sleepy child out for a walk. Fit depends on the size chosen for the child's height.
Who it's for
Parents taking babies and toddlers on spring and fall trips or backyard campouts will like the wearable warmth. Families camping in severe cold need a warmer setup.
Pros and cons
- Arms free, body warm
- Walk mode for camp
- Snap closure stays shut
- Recycled insulation and shell
- Two sizes, check fit
- Not for very cold nights
- Color tied to temperature version
Performance notes
High loft synthetic fill traps warm air even when compressed under a sleeping child. The water resistant shell sheds light moisture. Correct sizing matters, since a bag that is too long leaves cold space at the feet.
