Overview
Not a slim phone clip, this abxylute controller is a full-size grip that stretches around a phone or small tablet. Its Type-C port plugs into VITURE glasses to give a large virtual screen, and the free abxy app remaps buttons and tunes the sticks.
Pairing with VITURE glasses is the reason to choose this edition, since the redesigned Type-C port links the glasses directly. iPhone owners get a reduced version of the app, with no virtual touch and a fixed game library list.
Who it's for
Mobile players using Xbox Cloud, PS Remote Play or emulators get a full-size grip with drift-resistant Hall sticks. Owners of foldables and larger iPads are left out, since neither fits.
Pros and cons
- Hall effect sticks resist drift
- Programmable back buttons
- Charges while you play
- Works with phone cases on
- Not compatible with foldable phones
- IOS app has limited features
- IPad support limited to iPad Mini
- Box contents not clearly listed
Performance notes
Hall effect sensors read the sticks and triggers by magnet position, which avoids the wear that causes drift. The gyroscope adds motion aiming where games support it, and pass-through charging lets long sessions run in both wired and wireless modes.
