Overview
A two-bag bundle of Bocce's Bakery's Brushy Sticks in the medium breed size, a coconut and mint flavored dental chew shaped with a bristle-like texture meant to scrape plaque as the dog chews. Each bag runs 12 ounces, and the recipe is wheat-free and free of artificial colors and flavors.
Bocce's Bakery lists the ingredients as additive-free and human-grade, and the nutrition claims lean toward low calorie, low fat and low sodium with no added sugar, positioning this as a treat that doubles as dental care rather than a full meal replacement. It currently ranks 39th among Amazon's dog dental sticks.
- Two 12 ounce bags in one bundle
- Coconut and mint dental chew recipe
- Wheat-free, human-grade ingredient claim
- Ranked 39th in Amazon's dog dental sticks
Who it's for
Owners of medium-sized dogs looking for a treat that does some dental work as a side effect of chewing, and who prefer a shorter, more recognizable ingredient list over typical rawhide alternatives.
Pros and cons
- Wheat-free recipe with no artificial colors or flavors
- Low calorie and low sodium relative to typical treats
- Two-bag bundle covers more chewing sessions per purchase
- Coconut and mint flavor combination is distinct from typical dental chews
- Sized for medium dogs only, not sold here in small or large formats
- Mechanical dental chews depend on the dog chewing rather than gulping
Performance notes
The bristle-shaped design is meant to work mechanically, the ridges scrape against teeth as the dog gnaws through the stick, similar in principle to other shaped dental chews. The label's own claims focus on plaque removal, fresher breath and gum health rather than any clinical measurement, so results will vary with how thoroughly a given dog chews rather than swallows the stick.
