Overview
Not a simple solo burner, the Jetboil Flash Java pairs a larger insulated pot with a silicone French press for group coffee. A push button igniter lights the burner, and a color change patch shows when water is ready.
Coffee for a small group and boiling water for meals in one packed kit suits car camping and short hikes. The pot design suits boiling more than frying.
Who it's for
Couples and small groups on trips who live on coffee and dehydrated meals will use it daily. Gourmet camp cooks need an open burner and pans.
Pros and cons
- Fast boil times
- French press included
- Push button ignition
- Pot locks to burner
- Fuel sold separately
- Built for boiling, not frying
Performance notes
Speed comes from the heat exchanger ring on the pot base capturing more flame energy, and the cozy holds heat once boiled. The locking pot connection holds the system stable on uneven ground.
