Overview
The Pocze DBL001 is a 20x50 binocular built for higher magnification use like stargazing, distance viewing and hunting in low light. It has a 50mm objective lens, 18mm BAK4 dielectric-coated prisms, and a waterproof, argon-purged, fog-proof body with a carrying bag.
The 50mm objective lens and BAK4 dielectric coating are aimed at the low-light end of the use case, dawn, dusk and overcast conditions, rather than daytime birding where a smaller compact pair would do.
- 20x magnification, 50mm objective lens
- 18mm BAK4 dielectric-coated prisms
- Argon-purged, fog-proof, waterproof body
- Oversized single-finger focus wheel
Who it's for
Fits stargazers, hunters working low-light hours, and anyone viewing from height, such as a high-rise window, who wants more reach than a compact pair offers. Casual travelers who just want something small and simple may find the 20x50 size and weight more than they need.
Pros and cons
- 50mm lens performs in low light
- Waterproof and fog-proof sealed body
- Ships with carrying bag and lens covers
- Focus wheel takes practice to dial in precisely
- Larger and heavier than a compact pair
- Not top-tier glass by one reviewer's own comparison
