Overview
Not a desktop tape labeler with a keyboard, the Phomemo printer is a pocket-size thermal unit run from a phone app. It prints names and messages on satin ribbon for gifts, plus labels for jars, files and cables.
Printing on ribbon opens up custom gift wrap, bouquets and party favors beyond plain sticker labels. Tapes are narrow and output is single color at modest resolution.
Who it's for
Crafters, wedding planners and party hosts personalizing ribbons and tags, plus anyone labeling small items. Shippers needing large labels should look at a wide-format thermal printer.
Pros and cons
- Prints on ribbon
- Many label types supported
- Big app design library
- Auto media detection
- Narrow tapes only
- Single color output
Performance notes
A thermal head transfers the design onto ribbon and label media, so results depend on using matched Phomemo consumables. The modest dot density suits text and icons more than detailed images.
