Overview
Not a simple button headlamp, the Coast unit answers voice commands to change brightness, beam shape and color. Twist focus slides from a wide flood to a long spot, and red and green beams protect night vision.
Hands-free voice control and very high output make it a strong tool for professionals working at height or with gloves. It is a heavier, larger lamp than a hiker would need.
Who it's for
Suited to job sites, hard hats and night work where touching controls is awkward. Campers after a compact lamp for a tent should go smaller.
Pros and cons
- Voice control without buttons
- Twist focus from flood to spot
- Red and green night beams
- Magnetic end cap
- Alkaline cartridge not included
- Large for casual use
- Peak runtime not listed
Performance notes
Runtime falls as brightness rises, which is why the longest figure applies to the dim Moon Glow mode. Twist focus moves the lens to trade spread for reach, and voice control frees hands for the job.
