Overview
Filed under Cat Litter despite being made for ferrets and rabbits, Kaytee's Premium Potty Training Critter Litter is an 8 lb bag of unscented bentonite granules for small animal litter training.
The category tag on this listing reads Cat Litter, but the title, target species field, and product name all point to small animal use, specifically ferrets and rabbits. Bentonite is a clumping clay material, and the granule form is built for potty training rather than general-purpose odor control. Buyers actually shopping for cat litter should look elsewhere despite the listing placement.
- 8 lb bag
- Bentonite granule litter
- Unscented
- Made for ferrets, rabbits, and other small animals
Who it's for
Ferret, rabbit, and small animal owners setting up a litter box for potty training. Cat owners searching by the listed category will want a cat-specific litter instead, since this is formulated and marketed for small animals.
Pros and cons
- 8 lb bag sized for regular litter box use
- Bentonite granules support clump-based potty training
- Listing category says Cat Litter, not small animal
- Not intended for general cat litter box use
Performance notes
Bentonite clay granules clump on contact with moisture, which supports potty training by helping small animals associate a specific texture and spot with elimination. The unscented formula avoids masking odors with fragrance, relying instead on the clumping action to keep the litter area manageable.
