Overview
Ionic Pro builds this Turbo tower around ionic purification, with an electrostatic washable filter in place of a disposable cartridge. A fan with several speeds moves air through the unit, and the matte black tower is portable.
No cartridges to buy is the main attraction, since the washable filter is cleaned rather than replaced. Quiet operation and low power are listed too. The limits are mixed coverage figures and a listing that never describes the cleaning routine.
Who it's for
Households that want dust, pet dander, pollen and smoke handled without buying cartridges, in a bedroom or living room. Allergy sufferers who specifically need HEPA media, or buyers who want proven coverage numbers, should look at other purifiers.
Pros and cons
- Washable filter, no cartridge purchases
- Low noise level listed
- Low power draw
- Portable tower design
- Coverage figure listed two ways
- Not a HEPA design
- Cleaning steps not listed
Performance notes
An electrostatic ionic process captures airborne particles on a washable collector rather than a disposable filter, and a fan moves room air through the tower. The description cites a number of air changes per hour for a stated floor area, while the specs list a larger area, so real coverage is uncertain. Collector cleanliness governs how well it continues working.
