Overview
A built-in SoftClose hinge lowers this TOTO seat and lid down to the bowl gently and quietly, ending the slam of a dropped lid. The elongated seat is molded from high-impact plastic and fastens with bolts that tighten from the top.
Slam-free closing is what this seat changes day to day, with a hinge that slows both seat and lid. Fit depends on bowl shape, so owners of round bowls need a different seat.
Who it's for
Homes with children or light sleepers who hear every dropped lid get a seat that settles down on its own. Owners of round bowls need a round seat instead.
Pros and cons
- SoftClose hinge stops seat slam
- Seat and lid both close slowly
- Top-tightening bolts ease installation
- All mounting hardware included
- Elongated only, not for round bowls
- Warranty limited to one year
- Quick-release removal for cleaning not listed
Performance notes
The SoftClose hinge controls the drop of seat and lid, so closing speed comes from the hinge rather than the hand. Top-tightening bolts set how firmly the seat holds against the bowl, and retightening them over time limits side shift.
