Overview
Squeezing out tunes in F, B flat and E flat is the job of the Hohner Corona II, a diatonic accordion with a lacquered pearl red finish over a bass wood body. A bag comes with it for transport between gigs.
Hohner aims the Corona II at working musicians who play in flat keys, and the pearl red lacquer stands out on stage. Details a buyer would compare, such as weight, bass layout and reed setup, are absent. The warranty period is brief, so inspect the instrument closely on arrival.
Who it's for
Working diatonic players who perform in flat keys get Hohner's Corona II keying in a red pearl finish. Anyone needing a piano accordion, or a full spec sheet before buying, should ask the seller or choose another model.
Pros and cons
- Keyed in F, B flat and E flat
- Lacquered pearl red finish
- Bass wood body
- Carry bag included
- Weight not listed
- Short limited warranty
- Bass and reed layout undescribed
- Sparse seller description
Performance notes
Sound and response come from the reeds and how freely the bellows move air across them. The listing describes neither, so tone cannot be judged from the page. A diatonic plays different notes on push and pull, so fluency depends on learning the bellows direction in each key.
