Overview
This is a 1.5-foot RG-59/U coaxial cable from Monoprice, a short patch length rather than a full run from a wall jack to a TV. RG-59/U is a standard coax type used for cable TV and video signal runs.
At 1.5 feet, this cable is built for a short connection point, such as bridging a splitter to a wall plate or linking two nearby components, rather than routing a signal across a room. RG-59/U specifically is a thinner coax gauge than RG-6, more common on shorter analog video and CCTV runs than long cable-TV drops.
- RG-59/U coaxial cable
- 1.5 ft length
- Monoprice brand
- Suited to short jumper connections
Who it's for
Useful for a short jumper between a splitter, wall plate, or nearby device rather than a long run to a distant TV or modem. Not the right length for wiring a cable box across a room.
Pros and cons
- RG-59/U coax construction for video or cable signal
- Short 1.5 ft length fits tight connection points
- Too short for room-to-room cable runs
- RG-59/U is a thinner gauge than RG-6, less ideal for long distances
Performance notes
RG-59/U coax carries an analog or RF video signal through a shielded copper core, and its thinner gauge compared to RG-6 makes it common on short runs and older CCTV or video setups rather than long cable-TV drops. At 1.5 feet, this length suits a tight connection point rather than routing between rooms.
