Overview
On the stove or in the microwave, this silicone steamer lifts food above the water on silicone feet. Flexible pleats let it fit many pot sizes, and the handles fold inward to make room for the pot lid.
Flexible fit, easy storage and a large center for fillets are the reasons to choose it. It needs a pot with a lid, and the listing mentions a stainless lid material that is not described elsewhere.
Who it's for
Cooks who want a simple steaming insert for glass or nonstick pots without scratching. Someone who wants a dedicated steaming pot with a lid should choose a different product.
Pros and cons
- Collapses for compact storage
- Pleats fit many pot sizes
- Silicone feet will not scratch cookware
- Handles fold in and stay cool
- Needs your own pot and lid
- Lid material field unclear
Performance notes
Silicone feet raise the food above the boiling water, and high walls stop it from sliding into the pot. The pleated petals flex to fit different pot widths. Cool-touch handles fold inward so the pot lid still closes.
