Overview
A pot on the stove with its lid on is where this OXO steamer basket works. A telescoping handle extends and locks for filling and carrying, then shortens so the lid can close, and folding feet hold the insert over the water.
The adjustable build adapts to several pot sizes, and removing the handle frees the basket for large items such as fish fillets. Storage is compact once folded. The listing gives both dishwasher safe and hand wash only, so check before cleaning.
Who it's for
Home cooks who steam vegetables or fish in whatever pot is on the stove and want the basket to collapse for storage. Buyers expecting a full steamer pot, or sure dishwasher guidance, should look elsewhere.
Pros and cons
- Collapsible for compact storage
- Telescoping handle retracts for lids
- Fits multiple pot sizes
- Handle can be removed for large items
- Care instructions conflict
- Basket only, no pot or lid
- Capacity figure looks unreliable
Performance notes
Folding feet raise the basket above the water line so steam, not boiling water, cooks the food. The telescoping handle extends for reach and retracts to let the pot lid close. The basket opens and closes to match different pot widths.
