Overview
A parent putting a baby into this life jacket opens the buckle at the collar, fastens an elasticized leg strap and has an oversized collar for head support. A grab strap is built in for easy recovery from the water.
Coast Guard approval, head support and a grab strap are the reasons to shop for it. It covers only the infant weight range, and no chest size or separate minimum weight is given.
Who it's for
Families with an infant on a boat or at the lake get a jacket meant for that weight range with a leg strap for stability. Children above the infant limit need a different size, and the fit should always be checked on the child.
Pros and cons
- U.S. Coast Guard approved
- Oversized collar for head support
- Grab strap for recovery
- Elasticized leg strap
- Infant weight range only
- Chest size not listed
- Weight limits conflict in specs
- Only one color listed
Performance notes
The collar lifts and supports the head, and the leg strap holds the jacket down so it does not ride up. The listing does not describe the flotation material in detail. Proper fit and strap adjustment matter more than any single feature.
