Overview
VTech designs this activity cube with light-up buttons, sliding and spinning blocks, and animal and instrument buttons on its sides. A built-in motion sensor sets off sounds as the cube shifts, which draws a baby toward it.
Songs, sounds and lights make the cube lively, and it works for a baby learning to sit as well as a toddler pressing buttons. The listing says five sides in one place and six in another, so the exact layout is unclear.
Who it's for
Parents of babies from six months who want one music and learning toy that grows into toddler button play will find the range wide. Shoppers who need silent toys should look elsewhere, though the volume can be turned down.

Performance notes
Pressing the shape, animal and instrument buttons teaches names and sounds, while the twisting blocks give the hands a job. Movement sets off the sensor sounds. Auto shut-off protects the batteries when play stops.
