Overview
Not a light trainer ball, this Special ball uses a foam core with a polyurethane coating that does not sting. The coating gives a tactile grip, and the maker says it is hard to tear.
A heavier ball carries farther in throwing games and suits older players. Color is the confusing part, since the specs list several colors but the included item is one purple ball.
Who it's for
Middle and high school gyms or throwing games fit the heavier foam. Buyers who want several colors in one order should buy multiple listings.
Pros and cons
- Heavier ball for distance
- Foam core with grip coating
- Color field is inconsistent
- Single ball only
- Not for very young kids
- Tear-proof claim is the maker's
Performance notes
The foam core absorbs impact and the coating adds grip, so the ball is gentler than vinyl or rubber. The extra weight gives more carry and a firmer bounce than lighter foam trainers.
