Overview
This liquid MCT oil is sourced entirely from coconut oil and triple distilled to concentrate C8 and C10 fatty acids, sold unflavored in a 16 ounce bottle with no additives or fillers listed.
MCT oil quality comes down to the C8/C10 ratio and how it's processed, and the triple distillation step here is meant to isolate those two chains rather than leave in the longer chain fats found in less refined coconut oil. Being unflavored and additive free makes it easy to add to coffee or food without changing the taste much.
- 100 percent coconut derived MCT oil
- Triple distilled C8 and C10
- 16 oz, unflavored
- No additives or fillers
Who it's for
Works for people following a keto or low carb approach who want a neutral tasting fat source to add to coffee, shakes or cooking. Less relevant if you're not looking to add concentrated fat calories to your diet.
Pros and cons
- Triple distilled for concentrated C8/C10 content
- No additives or fillers
- Unflavored, mixes into coffee or food easily
- Dairy free and gluten free
- Concentrated MCT oil can cause digestive upset if introduced too quickly, so dosing should be built up gradually
Performance notes
The oil is triple distilled from 100 percent coconut oil to concentrate the C8 and C10 medium chain triglycerides that are metabolized faster than longer chain fats, which is the basis for its use as a quick energy source. No fillers or flavoring are added.
