Overview
This is a Nightforce SHV 4-14x50mm first focal plane riflescope with a 30mm main tube, built for long range hunting and precision shooting. It uses the MIL-R F1 reticle with center illumination and Nightforce's ZeroSet return-to-zero feature.
- 4-14x magnification, 50mm objective
- First focal plane MIL-R reticle
- 30mm main tube, 90 MOA / 26 mil-radian adjustment range
- Parallax adjustable from 25 yards to infinity
Who it's for
Long range hunters and precision shooters who want first focal plane holdover accuracy at any magnification and are comfortable with the tradeoffs of a mid-tier scope from a premium optics maker. Less suited to shooters planning to run consistently high magnification on a hard-recoiling rifle.
Pros and cons
- First focal plane reticle keeps holdover accurate at any magnification
- ZeroSet allows a fast, repeatable return to zero
- Turret feel and glass rated above some competing scopes by owners who compared them side by side
- Reticle center illumination with 12 brightness settings
- Eye relief can get tight at high magnification and long distance for at least one owner
- Only the reticle center is illuminated, not the full crosshair
Performance notes
The 30mm main tube gives up to 90 minutes or 26 mil-radians of adjustment travel, with quarter-minute or tenth-mil clicks depending on reticle choice. ZeroSet lets the turret return to a saved zero from any distance, and the exposed elevation dial pairs with a capped windage dial to prevent accidental adjustment in the field. Parallax is adjustable from 25 yards to infinity, and the illumination dial offers 12 brightness settings for the reticle's center only.

What does ZeroSet do?
