Overview
Not a pitcher or faucet filter, this is a replacement cartridge for certain refrigerators. It uses an activated coconut carbon block with lead-free, food-grade materials.
The reason to consider it is the clear list of replacement part numbers and the NSF testing. The limit is that fit depends on your exact refrigerator model, and the model list in the listing is cut off.
Who it's for
Owners of the named LG and Kenmore refrigerators who want to swap the cartridge and keep minerals in the water. Anyone whose fridge uses a different filter part number should not order without checking the list.
Pros and cons
- Part numbers listed
- NSF testing named
- Retains beneficial minerals
- Includes install stickers
- Model list cut off
- Only one filter
- Fit must be checked
Performance notes
A coconut carbon block catches particles and adsorbs chlorine and taste compounds as water passes through. The listing says it retains beneficial minerals, which carbon does because it does not remove dissolved salts. Replacement timing is not stated.
