Overview
Not an adult vest, this Scuba Choice jacket is cut for children up to a stated weight and inflates through an oral inflator. Velcro and adjustable straps set the fit, and neon yellow makes a child easy to spot.
The reason to buy is a bright, adjustable vest with storage that a child can use while learning to snorkel. Nylon and TPU make the shell durable. The limitation is the weight cap and the short warranty, and the listing does not state an approval class.
Who it's for
Younger swimmers who need a little buoyancy at the beach will use the bright color and pockets. Children above the weight cap, non-swimmers and anyone needing a rated life jacket should look elsewhere.
Pros and cons
- High-visibility neon yellow
- Oral inflator adjusts buoyancy
- Mesh pockets for small items
- Durable nylon and TPU material
- Weight cap limits older kids
- Approval class not stated
- Fit range by chest not listed
Performance notes
An inflatable vest holds buoyancy through trapped air, so a child can add or release air with the oral inflator to adjust the fit. TPU lining holds the air in and nylon protects it from abrasion. A leak or an under-inflated chamber reduces buoyancy.
