Overview
A rubberized wrench captures the recoil spring during takedown, and the rest of the bundle handles the cleaning. The Gun Boss kit packs rods, brushes and patches in a zippered case, with a quick reference guide.
The reason to buy is a single bundle covering takedown, cleaning and instruction for one pistol model. The wrench is made not to scratch and to catch the recoil spring. The limitation is that the kit is for handguns and the listing gives no rod count or length.
Who it's for
New owners will use the field guide and the wrench while learning to field strip the pistol. Shooters of other platforms, or those wanting a long-gun kit, should choose a different set.
Pros and cons
- Three products in one bundle
- Wrench captures the recoil spring
- Non-marring rubberized wrench
- Covers many handgun calibers
- Handgun cleaning only
- Rod and brush counts not listed
- Bushing wrench suits government and officer models
- Warranty needs maker contact
Performance notes
A bushing wrench turns the barrel bushing and restrains the recoil spring so it cannot launch during takedown. Brass-type brushes scrub the bore, and nylon jags carry patches through it. A matched caliber brush gives the best result.
