Overview
A mid size community tank or a small reef is where the Seachem Tidal hangs. Its self priming pump starts on its own, the surface skimmer pulls oily film from the top, and a big basket takes whatever media you choose.
Owners get flexible media, a skimmer and a monitor that shows when to clean, without cartridge lock in. It hangs on the rim, so tank lids may need trimming.
Who it's for
Freshwater and saltwater hobbyists who like to choose their own media will use the large basket. Rimless tanks with full lids may need adjustments.
Pros and cons
- Holds any media
- Surface skimmer intake
- Long warranty with registration
- Hangs on tank rim
- Flow rate not listed
- Lid may need cutting
Performance notes
Water quality depends on the media you load, since the basket accepts anything. The surface skimmer clears film that blocks gas exchange. The self cleaning impeller reduces how often the motor needs attention.
