Overview
A living room or bedroom aquarium is where quiet matters, and this Tetra hang-on-back filter runs water through dual sided mesh, activated carbon and a Bio-Foam block. Cartridges lift out for a monthly change.
Simple cartridge changes and quiet running suit community tanks in shared rooms. Refills are a recurring purchase, and the listing does not say whether it suits saltwater tanks.
Who it's for
Beginners and hobbyists running community tanks in living spaces will value the quiet operation and simple maintenance. Owners of large or heavily stocked tanks may need more filtration.
Pros and cons
- Three stage filtration
- Simple cartridge swaps
- Bio-Foam hosts beneficial bacteria
- Reduces glass buildup
- Refill cartridges sold separately
- Monthly cartridge changes required
- Saltwater use not stated
Performance notes
Mechanical cleaning depends on the mesh cartridge, which clogs over the month and slows flow. Carbon handles odor and color until it saturates. The Bio-Foam stays in place during changes, which protects the bacteria that break down ammonia and nitrites.
