Overview
A blues, country or jazz player gets an Artcore hollow body electric with a maple top and back over a basswood body. A mahogany neck carries a rosewood fretboard, and the signal leaves through a standard jack.
The Artcore line was built to give hollow body character to players across blues, country, rock and jazz. This black flat version adds a gig bag and cable so it is playable out of the box. Detail on the pickups and controls is thin in the listing.
Who it's for
Suits a guitarist moving from a slab body toward a rounder, more resonant sound for clean and mellow styles. Heavy distortion players who dislike feedback on a hollow body should look at something else.
Pros and cons
- Maple top and back
- Mahogany neck, rosewood fretboard
- Gig bag and cable included
- Fixed bridge for steady tuning
- Pickup details thin in listing
- Hollow body can feed back at volume
- Bridge is fixed, no tremolo
Performance notes
Hollow construction lets the top and back vibrate with the strings, giving a warmer, rounder tone than a slab body. The mahogany neck and rosewood fretboard shape attack and sustain, and the fixed bridge holds tuning steady during bends.
