Overview
A third-party replacement refrigerator water filter built to fit Maytag UKF8001-based systems and the equivalent EveryDrop Filter 4 cartridges, positioned as a lower-cost alternative to the OEM part.
This filter is a compatibility part, so what matters most is the model list it fits rather than any unique feature of its own. It carries NSF and IAPMO certification against NSF/ANSI 42 and meets NSF/ANSI/CAN 372, the standard testing basis most refrigerator filters cite.
- NSF and IAPMO certified to NSF/ANSI 42 and NSF/ANSI/CAN 372
- Reduces chlorine, taste, THMs, VOCs, and particulates
- Tool-free installation
- Compatible with Maytag, Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, and Kenmore filter slots
Who it's for
Fits owners of Maytag, Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, and Amana refrigerators built around the UKF8001 filter slot, including EveryDrop Filter 4 and Kenmore 469006/469992 systems, who want a lower-priced swap for the OEM cartridge. Not for refrigerators that use a different filter shape or slot.
Pros and cons
- Must be replaced roughly every 6 months or 300 gallons, an ongoing cost like any filter
- Compatibility depends on matching your exact refrigerator filter slot
Performance notes
The filter is rated to reduce chlorine taste and odor along with THMs, VOCs, and particulates, and Golden Icepure recommends replacing it every 6 months or 300 gallons, whichever comes first. It installs without tools, twisting into the same housing as the original cartridge.
