Overview
RUIZU built this compact player around drag and drop file transfer from a computer, so songs land in folders without any app. It streams to Bluetooth headphones or speakers, plugs into a car aux port, and adds FM radio, voice recording, video, photos and text eBooks.
Offline listening with no phone and no subscription is what it does well, with a small screen and a long battery. Bluetooth is output only, and the internal capacity is stated two different ways on the listing, so check what arrives.
Who it's for
Gym sessions, school bags and travel where a phone is a distraction or a risk suit it. People who live in streaming services or want a large touch screen will feel boxed in.
Pros and cons
- Long battery life per charge
- Expandable with a micro SD card
- FM radio and voice recorder built in
- Plays lossless FLAC and APE files
- Bluetooth cannot pair with phones or cars
- Internal capacity listed two different ways
- Micro SD card sold separately
- Small screen for video viewing
Performance notes
Sound quality depends on the DAC chip and on the headphones you pair, since Bluetooth audio is compressed by the receiving codec. Runtime stretches furthest with the screen off and wired listening. File handling is plain folder copying, so tidy folder names make browsing faster.
