Overview
At just 0.03 kilograms, the Howies Hockey Cutter pairs a stainless steel blade with a plastic handle, small enough to live in a hockey bag pocket.
Selling under the Howies name ties this cutter to hockey gear maintenance rather than general shop use, and the sub ounce weight backs that up. It reads as a specialty accessory for a hockey bag, not a do everything utility knife.
- Stainless steel blade
- Plastic handle
- About 1 ounce weight
Who it's for
Aimed at hockey players and equipment managers who want a small dedicated cutter for tape or laces in their gear bag. Not built for general shop cutting tasks given its light plastic handled construction.
Pros and cons
- About 200 monthly buyers
- Light enough for hockey bag carry
- No blade length specified
- Plastic handle limits heavy cutting tasks
Performance notes
A stainless blade should hold up to the damp conditions of a hockey bag better than carbon steel would, and the ounce range weight keeps it from adding bulk to gear. The plastic handle keeps cost and weight down but is not built for tougher cutting jobs.
